I enjoy the diversity of hand surgery, managing conditions from the elbow to the fingertips. I have particular interests in brachial plexus and peripheral nerve repair and reconstruction, targeted muscle reinnervation (TMR), compression neuropathies, tendon injuries, Dupuytren’s contracture, and hand & wrist injuries. I have an extensive background caring for athletes at all levels, including youth and college teams, professional athletes, athletes at two Olympic Games and the weekend warrior. Dr. Kobayashi was elected to serve on the Board of Specialties for the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons as well as the Society of Military Orthopedic Surgeons for education.  He has been the team physician for the Air Force Academy sports programs and is currently a consultant for the Olympic Training Center. His honors include the Air Force Special Operations Command Flight Surgeon of the Year and USAFA Clinical Surgeon of the Year, along with multiple military decorations.
