Stephen Nakada, MD, FACS, is an urologist at UW Health and chair of the Department of Urology at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health.Dr. Nakada offers comprehensive care for adults with genitourinary conditions. He diagnoses and treats people seeking kidney stone medical management, provides preventative support and surgical intervention and improves the quality of life in former kidney stone patients.Dr. Nakada cares for patients with chronic urological diseases through surgical innovation. He specializes in the latest treatments and techniques for removing, fragmenting and mitigating pain and suffering from stone disease.Dr. Nakada’s passion for his work extends to his research. His contributions to studies on stone treatment and prevention as well as assessments of new technologies for urinary stone diseases can be found in 250 scientific publications.Recently, Dr. Nakada was named president-elect of the American Urological Association.When he is not at work, Dr. Nakada enjoys golfing, reading and spending time with his family.I'm interested in providing our patients with the most recent breakthroughs, especially from a surgical standpoint.
