Overview
Born in the Democratic Republic of Congo and raised in Montpellier, France, I migrated to the United States to further my medical education. Prior to practicing as a physician assistant, I conducted cardiovascular disease research while conducting educational seminars about cardiovascular diseases and health disparities for the local African American community. Upon completion of my physician assistant studies, I practiced in the Duke Cardiac Electrophysiology Department for nearly 10 years before transitioning to the Perioperative Anesthesia and Surgical Screening Clinic where I am currently seeing patients. Regardless of which specialty I serve, patients have been and continue to be the highlights of days in the clinic. Interacting with my patients gives me a sense of purpose. Even when there are times with no definitive guaranteed outcome, being able to bring a glance of peace and safety to my patients while delivering excellent quality of care and education remains my ultimate goal.
