Overview

"As a primary care doctor, Thai Tran provides a full spectrum of diagnosis, treatment and preventative care to men, women and children in southern New Jersey. She is board-certified by the American Board of Family Medicine. She says primary care plays an important role in today’s complex healthcare landscape. “We provide continuity and prevent interruptions in care,” she says, helping to improve the health of the community overall – preventing complications and keeping small problems from growing bigger. “AtlantiCare is committed to providing comprehensive care for all and primary care is key to that commitment,” she says. A biology graduate of Stockton University, she earned her medical degree with honors at Ross University School of Medicine, Barbados. She completed her family medicine residency at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, New Brunswick. She is fluent in Vietnamese. She has authored and co-authored a number of papers focused on improving access to care and preventing substance use disorder. Dedicated to reducing substance use, she recently completed an addiction medicine fellowship at New Jersey Medical School, Newark, where she gained invaluable experience treating the underserved. She is board-eligible for addiction medicine certification. “We have a great need for care related to substance use, especially in city environments,” she explains. “We need more providers in the field. It’s an important part of comprehensive care in family medicine."" She is making her return to AtlantiCare, where she was a member of the care team before pursuing medical school. She worked as a radiology film librarian. A native of Atlantic City, she says AtlantiCare has been an important gateway to care for her entire family and remains in the best position to have a real positive impact on the health of the community. She is excited to return as a doctor".

Her clinical expertise encompasses Opioid Use Disorder, Familial Hypertension, Glucocorticoid-Remediable Aldosteronism, and Hypertension.
