Dr. Petersen was born and raised in Arvada, Colorado. She earned her undergraduate degree from the University of Colorado - Boulder and her Doctor of Medicine from the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center in Denver. Dr. Petersen completed an Internal Medicine Internship with the University of Utah – Salt Lake City and an Obstetrics and Gynecology Residency with Banner Good Samaritan Medical Center in Phoenix, Arizona. She completed a Gynecologic Oncology Fellowship with the University of California, Davis Medical Center.
