Dr. Zhina Sadeghi is a fellowship-trained UCI Health urologist who specializes in neuro-urology and female and reconstructive urologic surgery.Her clinical expertise includes pelvic organ prolapse, urinary storage and voiding dysfunction (overactive bladder, urinary incontinence, etc.), urethral and bladder neck pathologies (diverticulum, stricture, etc.), neurogenic bladder, radiation cystitis, complications of urinary diversion and stomas, recurrent urinary tract infections, urinary tract fistulas, evaluation and management of hydronephrosis, ureteral obstruction and stricture diseases. Next, she completed a fellowship in female pelvic medicine and reconstructive surgery at the University of Michigan Medical Center in Ann Arbor.She is the author or co-author of at least 30 publications involving translational and clinical research focused on lower urinary tract dysfunction and novel treatments, including multipotent stem cell therapy, gene therapy and neuromodulation. These efforts have laid a foundation for urodynamic modeling studies and further exploration of the impact of treatments at the cellular and micro-environment level on the functioning of the genitourinary tract. Her research interests also include the development of patient-targeted therapies and the discovery of pathways to modulate neuronal signals to overcome the underlying urinary tract dysfunctional pathology.
