Overview
Dr. Zvi Schiffman received his medical degree from Hebrew University Hadassah Medical School in Jerusalem, Israel. He completed his general surgery residency at Mount Sinai Hospital in New York City and his urologic residencies at Yeshiva University, Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York and Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center. Before coming to the U.S., he served as a flight surgeon for the Israeli Air Force. After completing his residencies in New York, Dr. Schiffman relocated to Houston where he has been in private practice since 1984. Board certified by the American Board of Urology, Dr. Schiffman specializes in urologic surgery. The founder and president of Houston Metro Urology, Dr. Schiffman founded the practice to offer patients state-of-the-art disease management in a patient-centered environment. His clinical interests include impotence, Incontinence, infertility and reproductive medicine, overactive bladder, kidney stones, urologic oncology (prostate, bladder and kidney cancers). He utilizes the latest technologies in treating his patients, including Candela Laser, Laser Surgery, Laparoscopic and Robotic Assisted Surgery and Robotic-Assisted Radical Prostatectomy. Dr. Schiffman is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons and member of American Medical Association and Harris County Medical Association in addition to local, state and national urologic societies.
