Dr. John R. Strifling

John Strifling, MD, a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons, has been a physician since 2009. He treats adult patients at Saint Joseph Medical Group – Surgery, specializing in breast cancer and breast disease. He is chairman of the department of surgery at Saint Joseph East.Dr. Strifling takes a multidisciplinary approach to breast cancer care in his work at Saint Joseph Medical Group – Surgery. He was inspired to become a physician by his work as a paramedic for a large 911 EMS system in South Carolina.He received a bachelor’s degree from the University of the South in Sewanee, Tennessee, and his medical degree from the University of South Carolina School of Medicine in Columbia. He completed a residency in general surgery at the University of Kentucky.In his free time, Dr. Strifling enjoys rock climbing.
