Overview
Wingrove T. Jarvis, MD, is a general orthopaedic surgeon with a particular focus on orthopaedic trauma for both adults and children, as well as adult reconstruction surgery. His expertise includes treating complex fractures of the pelvis, hip socket and spine, and he performs a variety of surgical procedures, such as shoulder, hip and knee arthroplasties; arthroscopic surgeries of the knee and shoulder; primary adult orthopaedic spine surgeries; and non-complex hand surgeries.|Dr. Jarvis has extensive experience in treating veterans and is skilled in managing trauma, degenerative and neoplastic diseases of the spine. He is trained in the revision of spinal fusions, minimally invasive surgery methods like XLIF and lumbar and cervical disc replacements.|In addition to his clinical work, Dr. Jarvis supervised and taught physician assistants MRI interpretation at the Fort Meade VA Medical Center.|Dr. Jarvis is certified by the Fellow of the Royal Colleges of Surgeons from the United Kingdom and Ireland and is a registered trauma and orthopaedic specialist. He earned his medical degree from the University of the West Indies Medical School. Dr. Jarvis’ postgraduate training includes an orthopaedic trauma fellowship at the University Hospital of Louisville, and an adult orthopaedic spine surgery fellowship at Duke University Medical Center and the Durham VA Medical Center in Durham, N.C.|Outside the office, Dr. Jarvis enjoys scuba diving, touring, hiking, cycling, photography and motor mechanics.

He currently supervises two international trauma research fellows, actively teaches orthopaedic residents and lectures nationally and internationally on all aspects of orthopaedic trauma. Outside of his professional life, Dr. Horwitz enjoys visiting Scotland, and his favorite food is sushi. He spends much of his time with 3 dogs, 5 cats and 70 chickens.
