It is humbling to meet patients as they face a difficult diagnosis of breast cancer and/or breast abnormalities. As a breast surgical oncologist, my goal is to help alleviate that burden by surgically removing the tumor and to aid in restoring wholeness. The legacy of my role model Mr. Fred Rogers, is to find opportunities (in medicine) to show one another kindness. “You make each day a special day. You know how, by just your being you.
