Dr. Andrea L. Pusic

Dr. Andrea Pusic is the Chief of the Division of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, Director of the Patient-Reported Outcomes, Value & Experience (PROVE) Center and a Professor of Surgery at Harvard Medical School.  Her clinical focus is breast reconstruction (including DIEP flaps and implant reconstruction) and aesthetic breast surgery.  Dr. Pusic’s approach to care focuses on optimizing quality of life for her patients.  Her philosophy is that each patient is unique, and that reconstruction should be tailored to the individual and their goals.  Dr. Pusic is a leader in the field of patient-reported outcomes and surgical experience and has published over 200 papers on this topic.  Her research involves developing and implementing tools to assess outcomes from the patient perspective. The BREAST-Q, a patient-reported outcomes measure developed by Dr. Pusic, is used around the world to help surgeons appreciate how women feel about the results of their breast surgery.  At the PROVE Center, Dr. Pusic’s research team works to better understand how patient’s feel about their outcomes and experiences and use this information to improve surgical care.
