Both of my parents were in the medical field and strongly influenced the direction of my career. I became a physical therapist, which I enjoyed immensely, but I thought I could make a different contribution to patient care by becoming a physician. In radiology, we are part of the medical team that helps diagnose or exclude an illness and we help to direct the course of our patient’s treatment. Working with children is an amazing experience. Kids are so resilient and bounce back from all types of difficult situations. They each have such a unique perspective and we try our best to tailor our interactive imaging procedures to the child. Sometimes this involves providing anatomy lessons to teen patients, other times it involves just “getting it over with.” We aim to make our imaging procedures as interesting and as comfortable as possible. My areas of interest include: Pediatric Body Imaging  Fetal Imaging Child Abuse I try to provide the most accurate information based on our imaging studies to the patient’s medical team so that the child can be treated as quickly as possible. I am fortunate to work with an incredible group of medical practitioners at Nemours/Alfred I. duPont Hospital for Children who share my passion to provide the highest quality medical care to all children. Dr. Harty is highly rated in 94 conditions, according to our data. Her clinical expertise encompasses Caffey Disease, X-Linked Spondyloepiphyseal Dysplasia Tarda, Kniest Dysplasia, and CHST3-Related Skeletal Dysplasia. I’m a radiologist at the Nemours/Alfred I. duPont Hospital for Children, Wilmington, and I also interpret medical images for children who visit other Nemours facilities in Delaware Valley and Florida. I enjoy radiology because I can focus on the interesting puzzle of diagnosis and also work collaboratively with referring physicians. I’m married and have two young sons. Pediatric radiology allows me to interact and connect with my patients at a greater level than adult practice. And working with different specialists in a pediatric setting makes it a joy to provide the highest quality and most technologically advanced care. I’m passionate about helping kids get better with the least amount pain or life disruption. It’s personally fulfilling to make a diagnosis that saves a child from an unnecessary or painful procedure. My father, who was a physician, was a great role model. He was caring, smart, and made a difference by helping his patients live healthier and more productive lives. My mother was an X-ray tech, so I was exposed (pun intended) to medicine and imaging at an early age. I like working with people, especially children, and in school I was a science and math nerd. Medicine was a natural fit, and imaging gave me the chance to work with many different medical fields. Although I began my career in general radiology working with both adults and children, when the opportunity arose to work at Nemours exclusively with children, I took it. I appreciate the opportunity to help improve children’s health and welfare. Diagnostic radiology is an interesting field in that, like a detective, we are given a set of clues such as the patient’s symptoms, past history and findings from their physical exam, and then we use imaging tools to try to figure out the problem. We try to work efficiently so that once the problem is identified, proper treatment can begin as soon as possible. In this way we are helping the doctors caring for the patient, as well as the patients themselves. I love using the advanced technology available at Nemours to arrive at the most accurate and timely diagnosis possible to help our patients. My special medical interests include: Cardiac imaging Female reproductive tract imaging Fetal imaging X-rays, CAT scanning and fluoroscopy all use ionizing radiation, which is a concern in children. As radiologists, it is our responsibility to design our imaging procedures that use radiation so that the least amount of radiation possible is used, while still getting the information needed from the examination. We have department-wide safety procedures and tracking to make sure that our examinations are safe across the board. Specifically, I have deep exertise and fellowship training in ultrasound, MRI and CT scanning, as well as additional training in cardiac CT. Her clinical expertise encompasses Appendicitis, Saddle Pulmonary Embolism, Lymphofollicular Hyperplasia, and Neurofibromatosis Type 1 (NF1). Dr. Gould is board certified in American Board Of Radiology. Dr. Gould is currently accepting new patients.

I grew up and attended medical school in India before moving to the U.S. My dad, an engineer, influenced my deep understanding that many people lack the advantages other people enjoy. It’s humbling to be able to positively impact the life of every child. Radiologists work with clinicians behind the scenes to help guide their decision-making and we don’t often meet patients personally. But we do get great personal satisfaction from our work. I once visited with an infant who had a rare condition I’d helped doctors diagnose. When the baby started crawling toward me, it was truly amazing and rewarding. It’s heartbreaking to see handicapped children who can’t get the medical care they need. I feel strongly about caring for people who don’t have the economic resources to take care of themselves. Even at the start of my medical training, I knew I wanted to be in a field where I get to work with children. After my first child was born premature and required NICU-level care, that experience only intensified my desire to work with kids. Having a child requiring medical care is both scary and stressful. As a pediatric radiologist, my goal is to help alleviate those feelings for parents and children by providing the best radiology service and making it as kid friendly as possible. Pediatric radiology is a perfect fit for me. As a pediatric radiologist, I get to work as a consultant with many clinicians in different pediatric fields. Though radiologists are often behind the scenes, we play a vital role in diagnosing the problem, so that children can be treated and feel better. I am passionate about all areas of pediatric radiology including neuroradiology, musculoskeletal imaging and body imaging. I also work with all modalities including X-ray, ultrasound, fluoroscopy, CT and MRI. One of my roles as a radiologist is as a consultant, working with clinicians to ensure that we do the best test with the lowest radiation possible. As radiologists, we are always working to come up with new imaging techniques that can avoid or lower radiation and be more kid friendly. I care for children both at Nemours/A.I. duPont Hospital and the Nemours Deptford Specialty Care and Surgery Center. At our Deptford location, you may see me involved in fluoroscopy, ultrasound and X-ray. I also perform joint injections for MRI arthrograms at our Deptford location, many which are performed to evaluate sports injuries, joint pain or congenital abnormalities. I am a Nemours radiologist based in Wilmington, Del. at Nemours/Alfred I. duPont Hospital for Children. I grew up in a family with several close family members working in various fields of health care, who I looked up to as role models. I appreciated from them that joining a medical field not only brought the responsibility of staying on top of the most up-to-date science-based treatments, but also being able to relay this to patients and their families with great empathy and compassion. I used to work primarily with adults and branched out during my career into a pediatric setting, and have absolutely enjoyed working exclusively with children ever since. Children bring such hope, energy and joy, lighting up each encounter. Their current health and well-being is crucial to their growth into a healthy adulthood. It’s a rewarding and humbling privilege to have the opportunity to try and make a positive difference in these children’s and their families lives for the better. I am passionate about working with children and their families as well as our referring physicians to find the best imaging tools possible to most efficiently and accurately identify what’s going on. In this way, patients and family members, together with their clinicians, can make the best decisions of the most appropriate care for their children. My special interests include:  imaging of sports related injuries  musculoskeletal imaging As a radiologist who is also a parent, I try to step into the caregivers’ shoes when working with children and treat them as I would want my own family treated. I try to educate the patient and family so they understand what tests are being done and what the results mean so they can be knowledgeable as they move forward with the best possible care. I’m a radiologist at Nemours/Alfred I. duPont Hospital and started in 2020. Previously I had worked in the U.S. Air Force as an active duty doctor in San Antonio, Texas. Working with children is one of the most rewarding aspects of medicine. Children and families are very appreciative and pediatric radiology is an area of radiology where I think I can make the most difference in the lives of patients. My goal each day is to make a child’s and their family’s experience with radiology as positive and welcoming as possible, while also providing the best diagnostic imaging services that I can for our referring clinicians. I aim to treat my patients exactly how I would want my own sons to be treated. I try to lead by example and to make the radiology patient experience the best it can possibly be for our patients and their families. Her clinical expertise encompasses Neurofibromatosis Type 1 (NF1). Dr. May is board certified in American Board Of Radiology. Dr. May is currently accepting new patients.

When should I see a Pediatric Radiologist near orlando, FL?

There are various reasons why you may want to see a specialist, such as:

    • Your primary care provider recommends it.
    • Your condition requires expert knowledge and specialized care.
    • Your symptoms persist or worsen despite treatment.
    • You need specialized testing or procedures.
    • You want a second opinion.

What should I consider when choosing a Pediatric Radiologist near orlando, FL?

It’s important to see a provider with expertise in your specific condition. Each provider profile in MediFind’s doctor database includes information on which conditions they treat, years of experience, research contributions, languages spoken, insurance plans accepted, and more.

How does MediFind rank Pediatric Radiologists near orlando, FL?

MediFind’s rankings are based on a variety of data sources, such as the number of articles a doctor has published in medical journals, participation in clinical trials and industry conferences, as well as the number of patients that provider sees for a given condition. Note that MediFind’s provider database is not based on user reviews, and providers do not pay to be included in the database.

What types of insurance are accepted by Pediatric Radiologists near orlando, FL?

Most profiles in MediFind’s doctor database include a list of insurance plans accepted by that provider. However, it’s a good idea to contact the provider’s office to make sure they still accept your insurance, then doublecheck by contacting your insurance plan to confirm they’re in network.

How can I book an appointment online with a Pediatric Radiologist in orlando?

MediFind offers direct scheduling for certain providers using the “Request Appointment” button on that provider’s profile. If the schedule option is not available for a provider, tap the red “Show Phone Number” button on their profile to get their contact information. If you prefer to find providers who offer online scheduling, select “Schedules online” under the “Availability” category of the filter feature on the left side of the Pediatric Radiologist search results page.

Why is it important to get a second opinion from a different Pediatric Radiologist?

Second opinions are an opportunity to confirm a diagnosis and its root cause, learn about alternative treatment options, or simply gain peace of mind. Many people, especially those with serious diagnoses, get second opinions so they can understand all their options and make informed decisions, so don’t hesitate to get one if you have any doubts or need more information or clarification regarding your care. Note that some insurance plans require second opinions, while others don’t cover second opinions, so be sure to confirm with your insurance provider first.

How can I prepare for my appointment with a Pediatric Radiologist near orlando, FL?

Prepare for your appointment by gathering the following items:

    • Copies of medical records (dating back at least one year)
    • Your medical history, including illnesses, medical conditions, surgeries, and other doctors you see
    • Family history of disease
    • List of current prescription drugs, over-the-counter medicines, vitamins, and herbal remedies or supplements including names and doses
    • Allergies to medications, food, latex, insects, etc.
    • List of questions and concerns
    • Your insurance card

You might also contact the provider’s office to see if they offer transportation or childcare services or if you’re allowed to bring a loved one for support or to take notes during your visit.

What questions should I ask my Pediatric Radiologist?

    Here are some sample questions:

    • Can you explain in simple terms what this condition is and how it’s treated?
    • What symptoms or side effects should I watch for?
    • What tests will be involved, and when can I expect results?
    • Are there other specialists I need to see?
    • What’s the best way to reach you if I have follow-up questions?

How can I learn about the latest clinical trials and research advances my Pediatric Radiologist may know about?

MediFind’s Clinical Trials tool asks you a series of questions to help you narrow down your search by health condition, age, gender, location, how far you’re willing to travel, and more. Each question you answer filters down the number of trials until you find the ones that are most relevant to you.

MediFind’s Latest Advances tool features summaries of recent articles published in medical journals. We use cutting-edge technology to scour medical publication databases for the latest research advancements on any given condition, then we simplify this information in a way that’s useful and easy to understand.

Can I filter my search to show male or female Pediatric Radiologists near orlando, FL?

Look for the filter feature on the left side of the Pediatric Radiologist search results page. Select “Female” or “Male” under the “Gender” category to search for female or male providers exclusively. If the “Any” option is selected, it will pull results for both male and female providers.

Can I filter my search to find a Pediatric Radiologist that offers video calls?

Look for the filter feature on the left-side of the Pediatric Radiologist search results page. Select “Offers telehealth visits” under the Availability category to search for providers who offer virtual appointments (video calls).
