I grew up just outside of Woodstock, New York. I received my BS from Bard College and attended medical school at New York Medical College. I graduated from Medical School as a member of AOA, the National Honor Society, and entered my pediatrics training at Westchester County Medical Center. Upon completion, I trained for an additional year in a fellowship for adolescent medicine. I began working as a pediatrician in a large Community Health Center Organization which had eleven different sites. I was employed there for fourteen years, the last ten years of which I worked as Director of Pediatrics. I moved to Raleigh to be closer to my family and was happy to accept a position with Growing Child Pediatrics. I am bilingual and work with many Spanish-speaking patients. I am passionate about giving the best medical care to my patients and wouldn’t change any career decision I have made in life, including the privilege to be part of Growing Child Pediatrics.

Born and raised in the midwest, I was always taught to be kind to strangers and fiercely loyal to friends and family. I have paralleled this strategy with my pediatric practice, always treating my patients as I would my own children. After raising three daughters of my own, I can empathize with the parents of colicky infants, restless toddlers, and moody teens. I can help guide parents through those tough times. I was born in Philadelphia and raised in Burgaw, North Carolina. I graduated with honors from North Carolina Central University with a degree in Biology. As I general pediatrician, I see children from birth all the way through their adolescent years. I am a pediatrician with over 30 years of experience treating children from birth through 21 years of age. I see children for well visits and acute sick visits. I also do consultations for ongoing health problems and mental health issues. I try to make the child the main focus of the visit and gather pertinent history from the child or young adult. I enjoy helping parents with managing the care of newborns as well as talking with adolescents about their current and future plans. My experience of raising three children of my own has provided me with valuable insights on caring for and raising children. In my spare time, I enjoy attending major and minor league baseball games as well as Duke basketball games.

I graduated from Hofstra University in New York with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology and attended medical school at St. George’s School of Medicine at Grenada. I finished my pediatric residency in Brooklyn at Maimonides Medical Center in 2002. I held post as Attending Physician for two years in the Pediatric Neurointensive Care Unit at Beth Israel Medical Center’s Institute of Neurology and Neurosurgery (INN). I moved with the INN to Roosevelt Medical Center in 2004 and remained senior Neuro-ICU hospitalist five years. I married my wife and we moved to Morehead City, NC where I worked at the Carteret Clinic for Adolescents and Children in an outpatient pediatrician’s role. After two years we moved to Raleigh and I joined Growing Child Pediatrics. My academic interests include general pediatrics and AADD/ADHD (Fastbraiin). I also love spending time with my family, practicing martial arts, and woodworking.
