Overview
Richard J. Bowles, MD, provides orthopedic care to patients in our McDonough and Stockbridge locations. His practice includes general orthopedics with a specialization in sports medicine. He has special interests in ACL reconstruction and complex knee surgery (including multiligamentous reconstruction and cartilage salvage/knee preservation) and advanced arthroscopic surgery of the shoulder, elbow, hip, and knee.
Dr. Bowles graduated with honors from the University of Louisville and continued his education at the University of Louisville School of Medicine in Louisville, Kentucky, after a career in engineering and business. After completing a general surgery internship at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center (a Harvard Medical School teaching hospital) in Boston, Dr. Bowles completed his orthopedic surgery residency at the University of Colorado in Denver. He completed his sports medicine fellowship at the Cleveland Clinic. He is a team physician for the US Ski & Snowboard Team.

Keith A. Lamberson, M.D. is board certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery and is an American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons Fellow. Dr. Lamberson completed a fellowship in Sports Medicine, Arthroscopy and Surgery of the Knee and Shoulder at the Orthopaedic Specialty Hospital in Salt Lake City, Utah. His specializes in sport medicine, arthroscopy, surgery of the knee and shoulder and knee replacement surgery.Dr. Lamberson has extensive experience with athletes at the professional, Olympic and recreational levels. He has served as a traveling physician with the U.S. Ski team, Assistant Team Physician for the U.S. Ski and Snowboard Association, Team Physician for the Utah Freeze of the World Indoor Soccer League, and a venue medical physician at the 1996 Olympic Summer Games, 2002 Winter Olympic Games and multiple International Ski Federation World Cup events. Domenic Scalamogna, M.D., is board certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery with fellowship training in shoulder and elbow surgery. His practice encompasses a wide variety of orthopedic conditions to include general orthopedics, sports medicine, fracture care, and joint arthroplasty of the hip, knee and shoulder. Specific arthroplasty interests include custom total knee replacement as well as anterior total hip arthroplasty, also known as front hip replacement. Total hip replacement through the front of the joint preserves important hip muscles essential for ambulation while also eliminating post-operative restrictions resulting in a more expeditious post-operative recovery.Following completion of his general surgery internship at the National Naval Medical Center in 2002, Dr. Scalamogna completed a course in Aviation Medicine in Pensacola, FL and subsequently served as a Naval Flight Surgeon for Carrier Air Wing ONE. He participated in Operation Enduring Freedom/Operation Iraqi Freedom during a six-month deployment aboard the USS Enterprise (CNV-65). Following his tour as a Naval Flight Surgeon, Dr. Scalamogna entered his orthopedic residency in 2005 at the National Naval Medical Center in Bethesda, MD. While at Bethesda, his unique training encompassed the evaluation and treatment of complex extremity war wound reconstruction. After 12 years of active duty service, he completed his final tour in the United States Navy as a staff orthopedic surgeon at the Naval Hospital in Naples, Italy.Actively serving the military population, Dr. Scalamogna volunteers for the Wounded Warrior Project, as well as caring for pilots and members of the aviation industry with orthopedic conditions.
