Dr. Louis W. Catalano

Dr. Britton has been with Hand Surgery Associates since 1993. In his practice, he treats the entire spectrum of upper extremity conditions, including trauma and acquired conditions in adults and in children. He is a consultant at Craig Hospital in Denver, providing upper extremity reconstructive options for patients with debilitating spinal cord injuries and traumatic brain injuries. Dr. Britton is also the upper extremity consultant for National Jewish Hospital where he provides treatment for patients on a national referral level who have rare upper extremity infections. He was a principal investigator in the national research trial studying effective medications for the treatment of Dupuytren’s Disease resulting in the FDA approval of Xiaflex®. He is an active Fellow in the American Society for Surgery of the Hand as well as a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons. Dr. Clinkscales is a fellowship-trained, orthopedic hand and upper extremity surgeon who joined HSA in 1998 after three years of teaching full time at UC Health. After completing a degree in Religion from Davidson College (NC), he earned a medical degree from Emory University in Atlanta (GA). Dr. Clinkscales completed residency training at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester (MN) and completed his fellowship training at the Indiana Hand to Shoulder Center in Indianapolis. Honored by 5280 Magazine as one of Denver’s top doctors, Dr. Clinkscales regularly contributes to medical education by delivering presentations, publishing articles and demonstrating cutting-edge techniques in hand and upper extremity care. Dr. Clinkscales has loved being able to raise his family in Colorado. More recently, he has enjoyed embarking on a variety of international medical missions alongside his wife and two sons. Dr. Clinkscales spends his free time traveling, skiing, scuba diving, or just reading especially if it’s with family or friends.
