Dr. Derrick is excited to join MMC as he returns to his home state of Tennessee. He attended the University of Tennessee in Knoxville, TN, for his undergraduate education with a focus on Biology and Biochemistry, Cellular and Molecular Biology. After completing medical school at East Tennessee State University’s James H. Quillen College of Medicine in Johnson City, TN, he relocated to Charleston, SC, to continue training at the Medical University of South Carolina Pediatric Residency Program. He further specialized in Allergy and Immunology for adult and pediatric patients at the Vanderbilt University Allergy and Immunology Fellowship Program in Nashville, TN. He is double board-certified in Pediatrics as well as Allergy and Immunology and currently accepts new adult and pediatric patients in the Allergy and Immunology clinic.Education for patients is critical to Dr. Derrick, and he draws from his background of having both parents as educators. His previous employment experience includes working with fellows training in Allergy and Immunology as well as directing an elective rotation for medical students and resident trainees interested in the specialty. Dr. Kolisnyk was born and raised in the Philadelphia area. He enlisted in the Army at 17 and attended Villanova University, followed by medical school. Dr. Kolisnyk completed U.S. Army residency in Internal Medicine in San Antonio, TX, then deployed overseas for a time. He returned and trained at Walter Reed Army Medical Center (Washington, D.C.) as a Fellow in Allergy & Immunology. Prior to his arrival at MMC, he served as the Chief of Allergy & Immunology, and Chief of Medical Specialties at Fort Campbell, KY. Dr. Kolisnyk currently resides in Brentwood with his wife, two daughters, son, and three dogs. He enjoys college basketball, outdoor activities, home improvement projects, eating, and spending time with friends and family. Dr. Kolisnyk enjoys being part of the team at MMC, and providing medical care for residents of Murfreesboro and surrounding communities.
