He believes in utilizing non-operative treatment whenever appropriate. Dr. Weinreb strongly believes in patient-centered care and shared-decision making to develop individualized treatment plans with each patient.Dr. Weinreb has published over 50 research papers and textbook chapters, often presenting his work at national meetings. He is especially interested in research determining which patients are most likely to benefit from surgical versus non-surgical treatments. He is a member of AO Spine, the American Academy for Orthopaedic surgeons, and is a former president of the American Medical Association New England Medical Student Section.
