Dr. Thomas M. Nicholson
Overview
Thomas Nicholson, MD, is a fellowship-trained pulmonary and critical care specialist with Atlantic Medical Group. Board-certified in internal medicine, pulmonary disease and critical care medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine, he has clinical expertise treating patients with a wide variety of pulmonary infections and diseases. He provides compassionate care, treating patients with ailments of the lungs and respiratory system, such as asthma, pneumonia, tuberculosis, complicated chest infections and chronic obstructive pulmonary diseases including emphysema.Prior to joining Atlantic Medical Group, Dr. Nicholson served as a pulmonary and critical care physician in Ohio, providing inpatient critical care services and pulmonary consultation, while maintaining an outpatient pulmonary practice.Dr. Nicholson earned his medical degree at SUNY Downstate College of Medicine, Brooklyn, NY, where he earned the Harold A. Lyons MD Award for excellence in clinical medicine. He performed an internal medicine residency at New York-Presbyterian Hospital, Weill Cornell Center, NYC, where he earned two additional awards: the A. Lee Winston MD-Ingersoll Rand Company Award and the David E. Rogers Memorial Research Award. He then completed a fellowship in pulmonary and critical care medicine at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, Baltimore, MD.A member of the American Thoracic Society, Society for Critical Care Medicine and American College of Physicians, Dr. Nicholson is also a participating provider of the Atlantic Accountable Care Organization.
