Dr. Susan Bahl, MD, FACS, is a distinguished Breast Surgeon who recently joined Johns Hopkins, practicing at both Howard County Medical Center and Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center. A strong advocate for women's health, Dr. Bahl brings over a decade of experience in providing state-of-the-art, evidence-based breast care within multidisciplinary settings. Dr. Meyer will serve as the lead medical oncologist for adult sarcoma patients, and will focus on building the Adult Sarcoma and Connective Tissue Oncology Program. In collaboration with pediatric oncologist David Loeb, M.D., Ph.D., and orthopaedic surgeon Kristy Weber, M.D., Meyer will bring novel therapies to the clinic for sarcoma patients. Meyer received his bachelors and masters degrees in cell and molecular biology from Stanford University. Dr. Julie Lange is an assistant professor of surgery, dermatology and oncology at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. Dr. Lange was one of the original members of the Johns Hopkins melanoma group when it was first formed in 1995 and now serves as a clinical co-director of the Melanoma Program. Dr. Lange introduced the sentinel node technique to Johns Hopkins for both melanoma and breast cancer in the 1990s and has extensive experience with this technique. She has particular interest in melanoma at extremes of age, and in the factors associated with variance in melanoma care. Dr. Lange has published the largest study of melanoma in children, adolescents and young adults. She recognizes that melanoma in the older patient is a growing epidemic and has investigated the socioeconomic, demographic and healthcare factors that influence the treatment of melanoma in older persons. Dr. Lange is a member of the melanoma panel of the National Comprehensive Cancer Network, a group that annually evaluates and revises national treatment guidelines for melanoma. Dr. Civelek spent two years in the body MRI and MRI-PET section, Department of Radiology and Imaging Sciences, at National Institutes of Health Clinical Center before serving as the deputy chief in their nuclear medicine section. He is a fellow of the American College of Nuclear Medicine and The American College of Angiology, and is a fellow and founding member of the American Society of Nuclear Cardiology. Dr. Civelek has trained numerous American and international physicians in nuclear medicine, including nuclear cardiology and nuclear oncology. He has a worldwide reputation in nuclear medicine and lectures at medical centers in the U.S. and internationally on nuclear medicine, including nuclear cardiology and nuclear oncology/PET-CT and PET-MRI.
