Dr. Mothaffar Rimawi

Dr. Mothaffar F. Rimawi is a board-certified medical oncologist specializing in breast cancer care and research. He is Professor at the Department of Medicine, Section of Hematology and Oncology at Baylor College of Medicine. Dr. Rimawi is also Executive Medical Director & Associate Director of Clinical Affairs and Co-Leader of the Breast Cancer Program at BCM’s Dan L Duncan Comprehensive Cancer Center. Additionally, he serves as Chief of the Oncology Service Line at St Luke's Health in Houston.Dr. Rimawi’s professional interests include: the diagnosis, treatment and management of breast cancer; clinical trials in breast cancer; neoadjuvant therapy; targeted therapy and biomarkers in breast cancer; treatment resistance to ER and HER2-targeted therapies in breast cancer; locally advanced breast cancer; and breast disease and cancer.Dr. Rimawi received his medical degree from the University of Jordan in Amman, Jordan. He completed his residency in Internal Medicine and fellowships in Medical Oncology and Hematology and Breast Cancer at BCM. Dr. Rimawi holds certifications in Internal Medicine and Medical Oncology from the American Board of Internal Medicine. He is a member of the American College of Physicians, American Society of Clinical Oncology and the American Medical Association.In addition to English, Dr. Rimawi speaks Arabic.
