Dr. Jason Liss

As the chief of oculofacial surgery at Duke, I specialize in cosmetic and reconstructive surgery of the eyelids and orbit as well as the cosmetic laser surgery of the skin. I have published extensively on my work with cosmetic lasers, injectable fillers, neuromodulators, and benign essential blepharospasm in peer-reviewed journals and several textbooks. I speak frequently at both national and international meetings. I also serve on the editorial board of two aesthetic journals and was the first female oculofacial surgeon to be featured on the cover of the Plastic Surgery Practice Magazine. I am also a passionate artist and work with a variety of mediums. I believe that my work as a cosmetic surgeon is an extension of my great love of art. I first came to North Carolina from Pennsylvania in 1989 for my undergraduate education have lived and practiced here ever since. My husband, also an ophthalmologist, and I love taking advantage of the beautiful North Carolina weather and have a lake house that we enjoy sharing with friends and family. My work also includes reconstructive procedures and addressing issues with the eye’s tear drainage system. Beyond medical care, I believe everyone deserves to look and feel like their best self. That’s why I offer cosmetic procedures such as upper and lower eyelid blepharoplasty (for under-eye bags) and eyebrow lifts. Outside of work, I love diving into new languages, getting creative with mini art projects around the house, and challenging myself with baking recipes inspired by The Great British Bake Off.
