He earned his medical degree with honors from King Edward Medical College in Lahore, Pakistan before coming to the United States in 2004. He is a fellowship-trained interventional cardiologist with certification in internal medicine, nuclear cardiology, cardiovascular disease, echocardiography, cardiac CT, and interventional cardiology. Dr. Ahmad's areas of special interest include coronary interventions, congestive heart failure, peripheral vascular disease, and vascular interpretations. In addition to his numerous board-certifications, he also has advanced training as a Registered Physician in Vascular Interpretation (RPVI).Dr. Ahmad completed his internal medicine residency at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center in Memphis, where he served as chief resident during his final year of training and as chief cardiology fellow while pursuing his fellowship training. Dr. Ahmad completed an additional interventional cardiology fellowship at Michigan State University. He is a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology. Dr. Ahmad relocated to North Texas in 2019.
