Dr. Daniel A. Wecht
Overview
Dr. Wecht is clinical professor of neurological surgery at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine and chief of neurosurgery at UPMC St. Margaret and UPMC McKeesport. He has an active spine and general neurosurgery practice and cares for patients at UPMC Presbyterian, UPMC Shadyside, UPMC McKeesport, and UPMC St. Margaret. Dr. Wecht specializes in the treatment of brain tumors and cerebrovascular diseases, such as stroke, aneurysms, and vascular malformations. He received his medical degree from the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia. Wecht, MD, MSc, FACS, is a clinical professor in the Department of Neurosurgery at UPMC. Born and raised in Pittsburgh, Pa., Dr. Wecht is board-certified in neurological surgery. He received an undergraduate degree from Harvard University and completed a Masters of Science and medical degree at the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia. Dr. Wecht completed a residency in neurosurgery at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston. He then completed a fellowship in neurosurgery at Yale University School of Medicine in New Haven, Conn. He completed his neurosurgery residency at Brigham and Women’s Hospital/Boston Children’s Hospital/Harvard Medical School. He went on to complete an endovascular fellowship at the Barrow Neurological Institute. Bradley Gross, MD, specializes in neurosurgery and is certified by the American Board of Neurological Surgery.
