Overview
I am very fortunate to get to work in a profession that I love. I went into medicine initially because of my interest in science and the incredible complexity of the human body. I then found my home in primary care where I can follow patients long-term, develop relationships, and be the true coordinator of all of their health care needs. My favorite part of practicing medicine is applying medical evidence within the context of an individual patient’s goals in order to achieve the best outcomes. I moved to Durham for my internal medicine training at Duke, and my husband and I decided to stay here to work and raise a family together. We now have two beautiful daughters who fill our lives with joy.

I was attracted to internal medicine because it offered me the opportunity to care for a variety of medical problems across multiple organ systems. As a primary care physician, I enjoy being the “front line” medical provider for diagnosis and treatment of chronic illnesses, promoting health and preventing disease in the general population. I like solving medical problems and managing complicated medical illnesses, and I value the relationships I develop with patients over time. The majority of my time outside of work is dedicated to my family and enjoying the beautiful North Carolina outdoors with them.
