Overview
As a cardiologist and advanced heart failure specialist, I take care of many patients who are awaiting (or have already received) heart transplantation, as well as patients who are being supported by implanted mechanical devices known as VADs (ventricular assist devices). Our ability to support very sick patients has increased dramatically over the past decade, and it is a true privilege to be part of that team here at Duke.
