
Overview
Heather Katz, DO, FACOI, FACP, is a board-certified hematologist and medical oncologist specializing in the diagnosis and treatment of solid tumors and hematologic malignancies. Her clinical expertise includes cancers of the breast, gastrointestinal tract, head and neck, genitourinary system, lung, and gynecologic organs, as well as hematologic conditions such as leukemia, lymphoma, and multiple myeloma. Dr. Katz is committed to delivering comprehensive, evidence-based care grounded in compassion and respect for each patient’s individual journey. She emphasizes shared decision-making, continuity of care, and clear communication to empower patients and their families throughout treatment and survivorship. Dr. Katz earned her Bachelor of Science in Biology, with a minor in Human Development, from the State University of New York at Geneseo. She received her medical degree from Rocky Vista University College of Osteopathic Medicine in Parker, Colorado, and completed her internal medicine residency at Broward Health Medical Center in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, where she served as Chief Resident and was named Resident of the Year. She went on to complete her fellowship in Hematology and Medical Oncology at Marshall University’s Joan C. Edwards School of Medicine in Huntington, West Virginia, serving as Chief Fellow in her final year. Board certified in Internal Medicine, Medical Oncology, and Hematology by the American Osteopathic Board of Internal Medicine, Dr. Katz is a Fellow of both the American College of Osteopathic Internists and the American College of Physicians. She has presented at numerousnational oncology conferences and is the author of over 15 peer-reviewed publications in the medical literature. Dr. Katz is dedicated not only to clinical excellence but also to advancing the field of oncology through research, education, and mentorship.
