Dr. Jo grew up in Los Angeles and attended college at Duke University. After obtaining his M.D. degree from the University of California, San Diego, Dr. Jo performed his internship and residency at Tufts-New England Medical Center in Boston, Massachusetts. Dr. Jo completed his fellowship training in gastroenterology and hepatology at Massachusetts General Hospital, one of the two major hospitals affiliated with Harvard Medical School. Dr. Jo was engaged in colon cancer research and taught at Harvard Medical School during his fellowship.
