
Overview
Brian Feingold, MD, MS, FAHA, is medical director of the Heart Failure and Transplantation Programs at UPMC Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh and is board-certified in pediatric cardiology. He is also a professor of pediatrics and clinical and translational science at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine. Dr. Feingold earned his medical degree from the University of Pittsburgh. He completed an internship and residency in pediatrics at the University of Massachusetts Memorial Medical Center before returning to Pittsburgh to complete a fellowship in pediatric cardiology (serving as chief fellow in his final year) and in pediatric cardiac transplantation, heart failure, and pulmonary hypertension at UPMC Children’s Hospital. Dr. Feingold has extensive experience in outpatient and inpatient management of heart failure, pulmonary hypertension, and pre- and post-transplant care, including use of mechanical circulatory support. His research interests include care of the allosensitized patient, renal dysfunction after transplantation, cardiac involvement in Barth Syndrome, factors influencing progression to chronic allograft dysfunction/loss, and non-invasive assessment of acute rejection. Dr. Feingold has volunteered on councils/committees for the American Heart Association, International Society for Heart and Lung Transplantation, and the Organ Procurement and Transplant Network.
