Dr. Amos Song

Dayne Mickelson, MD, is an orthopedic surgeon with expertise in sports medicine and complex arthroscopic surgery. He has a special interest in knee preservation procedures including cartilage repair and transplantation, multi-ligament reconstruction, as well as biologic treatments. He also focuses on general orthopedics including acute or chronic knee and shoulder problems, pediatric injuries and fracture care.Dr. Mickelson’s philosophy is based on education and individualized care plans. His practice focuses on accessibility, convenience and a friendly atmosphere where a patient is treated like family. Dr. Mickelson believes in a shared decision-making model, where the treatment plan is customized based on an individual’s aspirations and goals. He has published in Orthopedics, the Journal of Surgical Education, the Journal of Hand Surgery and The American Journal of Sports Medicine.Dr. Mickelson has a passion for sports. He was a four-year letter winner on the Lehigh University men’s basketball team, winning the Patriot League championship and playing in the NCAA Division I Men’s Basketball Tournament (“March Madness”) his junior year. Dr. Mickelson previously served as team physician for Duke University’s football, basketball, and lacrosse teams, as well as for North Carolina Central University’s football team. He is currently the team doctor for Redmond High School.Dr. Mickelson was born the eldest of three boys outside of Milwaukee, WI. When he was young, he and his family moved to Woodinville, WA, where his family still resides. He and his family are excited to be back home in the Pacific Northwest. When not at work, he enjoys spending time with his wife, Kelly, and their two sons. He also enjoys basketball, skiing, cooking, reading and keeping up to date with the latest technology. Richard Swedarsky, DO, is a board-certified physiatrist who cares for adults with musculoskeletal disorders. As an osteopathic physician, he approaches each patient as a combination of body and mind. He strives to partner with his patients and assist them to take a critical role in their own care and well-being. For the control of acute and chronic pain, he draws from multiple modalities ranging from physical therapy and injections, to complementary medicine and surgery. After completing his residency at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center, he was transferred to Joint-Base Lewis McChord, where he completed his military service obligation as Chief of the Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Service. Wendy Heusch, DO, is a Pacific Northwest native, originally from Oregon. She graduated from the University of Puget Sound where she played volleyball on the 1993 NAIA Championship team. Her orthopedic training has taken her from West Coast to East Coast and although she enjoyed each area of the country, she believes there is no place quite like the Northwest.Her practice interests include treating all sports related injuries, with special interests in the shoulder and knee. She completed an Arthroscopy and Sports Medicine Fellowship at Orthopedic Research of Virginia in Richmond, Virginia where she learned from some of the most respected arthroscopic surgeons in the country about the latest techniques in arthroscopic surgery and sports medicine. These include all arthroscopic surgery of the rotator cuff and other disorders of the shoulder including dislocations and instability, as well as ACL surgery of the knee. She is also experienced in treating work related injuries of the shoulder and knee. She understands the unique circumstances surrounding work related injuries and helps her patients navigate the L&I process.Dr. Heusch has pursued and obtained subspecialty board certification in Orthopedic Sports Medicine. This subspecialty certificate is for board certified orthopedic surgeons who have demonstrated qualifications in sports medicine beyond those expected of other orthopedic surgeons. This includes additional training, a practice characterized by a volume of cases in sports medicine, and by passing an exam administered nationally by the AOBOS.Being an athlete herself, she enjoys treating the needs and injuries of all types of athletes, from high school players to the recreational athlete. She has also spent a portion of her fellowship with the team physician for the Washington Redskins learning about the care of the professional athlete.
