Dr. Matthew M. Rochefort

Dr. Wain joined the Brigham in February 2023 as a Surgeon, and Associate Chief of Quality and Safety, both for the Thoracic Surgery Department. Before joining the Brigham, Dr. Wain was the chief of the Division of Thoracic Surgery and the vice chairman of the Department of Surgery at St. Elizabeth’s Medical Center He’s a member of various societies, including the American Thoracic Society, the American College of Chest Physicians, the Society of Thoracic Surgeons and the American Association for Thoracic Surgery. Dr. Wain received his undergraduate degree from Pennsylvania State University and his medical degree from Jefferson Medical College. He completed residency training in surgery at Massachusetts General Hospital. After a surgical research fellowship at the City of Hope National Medical Center, he completed a fellowship in cardiothoracic surgery at Massachusetts General Hospital and Toronto General Hospital.
