Overview
Dr. Nicholas Mahoney, a Pennsylvania native, and Penn State alumnus, graduated in 2008 from Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia, where he received an award for the best average in Internal Medicine in medical school. Dr. Mahoney did his Medical Residency training and Gastroenterology Fellowship at the University of Pittsburgh.
In 2014, he entered private practice with a large Gastroenterology group in Harrisburg. He is Board Certified in Gastroenterology. He is a well-rounded Gastroenterologist who can diagnose and treat the full spectrum of digestive diseases and is fluent in all endoscopic procedures, such as EGD and Colonoscopy examinations. He is an active member of the American College of Gastroenterology, the American Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy, and the American Gastroenterology Association. He is active on the staff of Heritage Valley Health System Sewickley Campus, Heritage Valley Health System Kennedy Campus (formerly Ohio Valley General Hospital), and Three Rivers Endoscopy Center. Dr. Mahoney enjoys spending time traveling with his wife and two young children. His hobbies include hiking, running, and cheering on the local sports teams.

His career has been distinguished by awards for excellence in clinical research by the American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy, American Gastroenterological Association, American College of Gastroenterology, and the Glaxo Institute for Digestive Health. Dr. Kim was President of the Medical Staff at Heritage Valley Health System Sewickley Campus from 2010-2012. Dr. Kim served on the Board of Directors of Heritage Valley Health System from 2012 to 2021. Dr. Kim is a diplomat of the American Board of Internal Medicine, certified in Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology. He is an active member of the American Gastroenterological Association, American College of Gastroenterology, American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy, and the Pennsylvania Medical Society. Dr. Kim specializes in esophageal disorders, gastroesophageal reflux disease, cancer of the GI tract, and Therapeutic Endoscopy, including ERCP. He is active on the staff of Heritage Valley Health System Sewickley Campus, Heritage Valley Health System Kennedy Campus (formerly Ohio Valley General Hospital), and Three Rivers Endoscopy Center.
