Dr. Mark Frenkel MD, MA, FAANS is a board-certified Neurosurgeon Spine Surgeon based in Naples, Florida. He has had numerous peer-reviewed papers published in prestigious Neurosurgical journals and has written multiple textbook chapters on advanced topics in spinal surgery. Dr. Frenkel is an early adopter and innovator of new technologies and minimally invasive techniques. He was the first to use augmented reality in surgery by developing his own intraoperative neuro-navigation system and has patented new retractor systems for minimally invasive surgery. With over 10 years of experience and thousands of successful cases, Dr. Frenkel makes it his goal to provide you with the highest quality of care possible.

He joined Neuroscience and Spine Associates (NASA) in Naples, Florida in 2022, and was awarded "Top Doctor in Naples” in 2024 in the field of Neurosurgery.Throughout his training, he has participated in clinical research, publishing over 30 peer-reviewed papers. His specialty interests include minimally invasive techniques, motion preservation surgery, and robotics/navigation technology, all with the goal of returning patients back to doing things they love and living the lifestyles they desire. Outside of work, he enjoys playing basketball, traveling, and spending time with his family.Dr. Katsevman sees patients throughout all of Southwest Florida, including Charlotte, Lee, and Collier counties. Our primary office is in Naples and secondary office is in Fort Myers. We have treated patients from all across Florida, the United States, and Internationally!
