I fell in love with neurology on day one of my clerkship year in medical school. To me, the opportunity to help patients and families through complex illnesses is simultaneously challenging and incredibly rewarding. I ultimately chose to sub-specialize in movement disorders because I enjoy being able to form long-term relationships with patients and families, and I'm optimistic that a disease-modifying therapy for Parkinson disease is within reach. I'm also a core faculty member of Duke's Trent Center for Bioethics, Humanities, and the History of Medicine, where I develop programs to help students and trainees understand the patient's perspective, improving clinician resilience and mitigating burnout. Outside of work, I am an avid runner and cyclist, looking forward to exploring trails around the Triangle. Dr. Mantri is rated as a Distinguished provider by MediFind in the treatment of Dysgraphia. Her top areas of expertise are Parkinson's Disease, Movement Disorders, Progressive Supranuclear Palsy, Supranuclear Ophthalmoplegia, and Deep Brain Stimulation.

I see patients with a broad range of movement disorders, including Parkinson's disease, tremors, ataxia, dystonia, tics, and Huntington's disease. I employ deep brain stimulation (DBS) therapy for selected patients with Parkinson's disease, tremor, or dystonia, and use botulinum toxin injections for certain patients with dystonia, tremors, or tics. I work with an interdisciplinary team of physicians, therapists, and other health care providers, with the overall goal of helping to improve the lives of patients with complex neurological diseases.
