Dr. Rahul Narang
Overview
Rahul Narang, MD, FACS, FASCRS, is a colon and rectal surgeon with Atlantic Medical Group (AMG). He is board-certified in colon and rectal surgery by the American Board of Colon & Rectal Surgery and in surgery by the American Board of Surgery. He has more than 10 years of experience diagnosing and treating conditions of the lower digestive tract including colon cancer, rectal cancer, diverticulitis, Crohn’s disease, ulcerative colitis, and anorectal diseases. He brings a wealth of experience in robotic, laparoscopic, and open colorectal surgery, and is adept at performing colon resections, colostomy closure, minimal invasive surgery, reconstructive surgery for IBD, as well as treating rectal cancer and anorectal diseases, and managing functional bowel problems including incontinence and pelvic floor disorders. He is dedicated to providing compassionate, personalized care to all patients and ensuring they are educated about their condition and treatment.After earning his medical degree from Ross University, Dr. Narang completed his residency in general surgery at Beth Israel Medical Center, New York, NY, and a research fellowship in surgical oncology at the University of Pittsburgh, Pittsburgh, PA. After residency, he completed fellowships in colon and rectal surgery, and advanced minimally invasive colorectal at Cleveland Clinic FL, Weston, FL. Prior to joining AMG, he served as a colorectal surgeon and has held the title of assistant professor of surgery at various prestigious institutions in NYC. He also holds a BA in communications, legal institutions, economics, and government from American University, Washington, DC. He has authored numerous peer-reviewed publications in leading journals, focusing on colorectal cancer, immunomodulation therapy, and surgical outcomes. He is fellow member of American Society of Colon & Rectal Surgeons (FASCRS) and the American College of Surgeons (FACS). He has a patient-centered approach to care and is a participating provider of the Atlantic Accountable Care Organization.
