Dr. Mark D. Patterson

I am originally from Oviedo, Florida, but I began my journey in this part of the country when I attended the Edward Via Virginia College of Osteopathic Medicine in Blacksburg, Virginia. After medical school, I completed my surgical residency at South Pointe Hospital – Cleveland Clinic in Ohio. I am board certified by the American Osteopathic Association and the Osteopathic Board of Surgery. The desire to become a doctor and ultimately a surgeon stemmed from me wanting to use my hands to heal. Dr. David Stoeckle, my surgery mentor in medical school, cultivated my interest in surgery. When treating patients, I educate them and give them the tools to make their own healthcare decisions. Seeing my patients disease-free is where I derive my greatest joy as a physician. I have been married for 15 years and have three young children. We enjoy this region’s beautiful mountains and lakes, which lend themselves to boating, hiking and camping.
