"Shawn Stevenson, DO, FACS is an employed provider who serves as the Director of Bariatric and Foregut Surgery and employed provider at Dignity Health Arizona.He is a board certified, fellowship trained surgeon who specializes in advanced bariatric surgical procedures including metabolic weight loss, weight loss and oncology surgery using advanced laparoscopic techniques.Dr. Stevenson earned his undergraduate in Biology from Grand Canyon University. He earned his doctorate degree in Osteopathic Medicine at Midwestern University and completed is residency in General Surgery at the University of Arizona.He is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons and a member of the Arizona Chapter of the American College of Surgeons. He is a professor at the University of Arizona College of Medicine, an Assistant Profession at Midwestern University College of Medicine and Adjunct Professor at A.T. Still University College of Osteopathic Medicine and a Clinical Preceptor for Northern Arizona University.It is a privilege to be entrusted with the health of our patients and to provide them with the best possible care and outcomes available. Dr. Oh was born in Seoul, South Korea. He grew up in Houston, TX and graduated Cum Laude from Trinity University in San Antonio with a B.S. in engineering sciences. He is an Alpha Omega Alpha honor graduate of medicine from the university of Texas San Antonio medical school. He then completed general surgery residency at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, TX training under world renowned surgeon Dr. Michael E. Debakey.Before relocating to the East Valley, Dr. Oh practiced surgery for four years in Seattle, WA. There he was a clinical instructor in both the Swedish Hospital general surgery residency program and the University of Washington Medical School. He received the outstanding faculty instructor award from the Swedish Hospital Surgical Residents in 2005.My goal is to provide the highest quality surgical care available with an emphasis on advanced techniques.
