Dr. Yana P. Goldberg
Overview
Yana Goldberg, MD, is a radiation oncologist at Radiation Oncology Associates of North Jersey. Among her many accomplishments, she performed one of the first MRI-based brachytherapy treatments for cervical cancer in New Jersey at Morristown Medical Center in October 2013. These technological improvements are absolutely critical in maximizing the radiation dose to the tumor, while sparing side effects to the normal tissues. Dr. Goldberg's clinical and research interests include gynecologic, breast, lung, and head and neck malignancies. Her research has been presented at multiple international conferences including The Radiological Society of North America (RSNA), The American Society for Therapeutic Radiology (ASTRO), and the American Radium Society (ARS). Throughout her career, Dr. Goldberg has won many scholarships and prizes for her studies. She has participated in breast, gynecologic and prostate cancer research and authored several abstracts and publications. In addition, Dr. Goldberg has been honored by NJ TOP DOCS, as well as being featured as one of the 2015 NJ Top Docs in Healthy Living magazine. Dr. Goldberg completed her radiation oncology training at the University of Cincinnati, where she was chief resident. Her medical degree is from Drexel University College of Medicine, where she also pursued her internship in internal medicine. She earned a masters of biological science degree from MCP Hahnemann University in Philadelphia, and her bachelor of science degree in biochemistry, cum laude, from McGill University in Montreal. Fluent in Russian, Dr. Goldberg has technical expertise in a wide array of radiation therapy modalities, including IMRT, 3-D conformal, brachytherapy (LDR and HDR), partial breast irradiation, Stereotactic Body Radiation Therapy (SBRT) and Stereotactic Radiosurgery (SRS).
