Overview
I have been in practice at Duke Primary Care Butner-Creedmoor for seven years. I spent my first career practicing medicine in the U.S. Air Force. I was privileged to serve my country and now feel privileged to work in the Duke health system. I went into family medicine because I enjoy getting to know my patients and seeing them over the long term. I enjoy all aspects of family medicine and enjoy seeing all ages. I especially enjoy chronic illness management and sports medicine. I hope to spend the rest of my medical career being a family medicine physician for Duke Primary Care. I am married and have three children. I enjoy being outdoors, hiking, cycling and exploring new areas.

Although I've always had a keen interest in science and a desire to be of service to others, I didn't become a doctor until halfway through a far-flung 25-year Navy career. Family Medicine has been a perfect fit for me, as I've had the privilege of treating a broad range of patients in a wide variety of settings. I've come to believe that the most important and powerful factor in bringing wellness into medical care is a mutually respectful and compassionate relationship between doctors and their patients. My kids are the greatest joy in my life, and I try to spend as much time with them as possible. Away from work, you might find me running, cooking, reading, traveling, taking pictures with a vintage medium format camera, or watching football.
