I try to anticipate their needs and get other services involved to keep them at home and out of the hospital. | Why I entered medicine | I served in the Peace Corps in Ghana, West Africa. I saw how much community members cared for each other, especially for the sick and elderly, but there was insufficient medical resources or knowledge to make an impact. When I got back to the U.S., I worked very hard to get into medical school.
