Dr. Linda D. Gillam

Dr. Gillam is the Dorothy and Lloyd Huck Chair of Cardiovascular Medicine, Medical Director of the Cardiovascular Service Line for Atlantic Health System, and Professor of Medicine at the Sidney Kimmel Medical College at Thomas Jefferson University. Under Dr. Gillam’s leadership, Atlantic Health System and Morristown Medical Center have become nationally recognized as leaders in the cardiology space, attracting best-in-class talent, state-of-the-art technology and clinical trials. She previously served as Medical Director of the Cardiac Valve Program and Professor of Clinical Medicine at Columbia University. She is an expert in echocardiography, valvular heart disease and heart disease in women. She has lectured nationally and internationally on these and related topics. Dr. Gillam is Past President of the American Society of Echocardiography and a former member of both the Board of Trustees and Board of Governors of the American College of Cardiology. She currently chairs the College Partners in Quality Committee. She also chairs the Women in Cardiology Committee of the American Heart Association and serves on the leadership committee of the AHA Council on Clinical Cardiology. She is immediate Past President of the National Board of Echocardiography. She is senior guest editor for Circulation: Cardiovascular Imaging and a member of the editorial boards of Circulation and the Journal of the American College of Cardiology.She has authored more than 140 peer-reviewed publications and 20 book chapters and is co-editor (with Catherine Otto, MD) of Advanced Echocardiographic Techniques and (with Drs. Scott Solomon and Tina Wu) of Essential Echocardiography: A Companion to Braunwald’s Heart Disease, two leading textbooks in echocardiography. She is a graduate of McGill University and Queen’s University, Canada, and Columbia University, NY. She completed her cardiology fellowship training at the University of Toronto and Massachusetts General Hospital.
