Overview
I am an interventional pain physician with a focus on using procedural techniques to decrease pain and the need for medications. My main area of interest is a type of pain therapy called neurostimulation. Neurostimulation uses electrical signals delivered to the nervous system to treat a wide array of chronic pain conditions. There are many ways to apply this treatment including spinal cord stimulation, peripheral nerve stimulation, and dorsal root ganglion stimulation. The improvements I have seen in patients using stimulation therapy allow for long term satisfaction. I hope to continue to expand use of this exciting therapy to improve the quality of life of my patients.

I am the interim chief of the pain medicine division and medical director of the Duke Raleigh Pain Clinic and have been in the clinical practice since 2007. I take a patient-centered approach to care and focus on achieving functional improvement goals and decreasing pain and suffering. Often, this involves multimodal therapies, such as therapy, medications, and interventional procedures. Outside of work, I enjoy outdoor activities with my family.
