Philosophy of care | I believe our patient-physician relationship should encompass compassionate care, education, trust and understanding. I will spend time during each visit educating you on your health and diagnosis to help you become knowledgeable and an active participant in your care. | Why I entered medicine | My decision to pursue cardiology was largely driven by my experiences as a patient and the family member of a patient. When I was in high school, my father died suddenly from a genetic heart condition. As an organ donor his veins were ultimately used to save his mother-in-law’s life when she urgently needed bypass surgery. These experiences inspired and taught me the value of this field, and I want to use them to form a personal connection with you. Cardiology is one of the most dynamic areas of medicine, and treatments are constantly emerging. Had my father been treated by today’s medical system, his outcome may have been different. I am passionate about using these new resources and emerging technologies to help you and your family prevent a negative outcome. | Personal interests | I grew up in the Lehigh Valley, trained in Philadelphia and then moved back to the area. I am not just a physician, but also a mother, daughter, wife, sister and friend. My free time is spent with my husband, daughter and two sons. We enjoy hiking, skiing, traveling and just being together.
