Dr. Gary Y. Liao
Overview
One of my earliest memories was seeing my podiatrist as a young child. My doctor was caring, funny, and willing to spend time explaining to a very curious and sometimes scared child why needed custom orthotics was necessary for my painful feet. It was a wonderful relationship that I still cherish and why I feel very honored to now be on the other end of that relationship and able to provide care to my patients. Much of my decision-making is driven not only by my role as a healthcare provider but also by my experiences as a patient. I have a special interest in the treatment pathways for heel pain, ingrown nails and forefoot deformities such as bunions and hammertoes. In my free time, I enjoy traveling with my family, scouting out new restaurants, and trying to brew the perfect cup of coffee.

Central Carolina Foot And Ankle
I specialize in conservative and surgical treatments of foot and ankle conditions in children and adults, and have a special interest in treating athletes of all ages. My goal when treating patients is to help them heal as quickly as possible and keep them active during recovery to maintain physical fitness and strength. When your feet hurt, it makes staying active difficult. I like to take a collaborative approach with patients, and their families, to find the best and safest approach to getting them back to activity and believe that education is the key to preventing recurrent injury.
