Overview
Prior to starting medical school, I already knew that I wanted to become a family physician. I thoroughly enjoy getting to know people and building lasting relationships. I enjoy being apart of people’s lives, whether that entails walking through hard seasons or celebrating victories together. Family medicine gives me the opportunity to serve others while building relationships with the entire family. I was trained and feel comfortable caring for newborns, the elderly, and all ages in between. I enjoy women’s health and working with children and adolescents. Family medicine is one of my passions because I can teach my patients and also learn from them. I have two children of my own and have an amazing husband.

I enjoy the combination of the breadth of family medicine with the depth of the relationships the field allows me to form with patients of all ages and from all walks of life. I am particularly interested in cardiovascular disease prevention and helping patients manage hypertension (high blood pressure). Men's health is another area of interest, and I try to role model a healthy lifestyle by exercising regularly and eating a healthful diet. I also offer no needle, no scalpel vasectomies at Duke Family Medicine Center. My research focuses on hypertension, ambulatory blood pressure monitoring, and obesity prevention.
