He is the past Chair of the Subspecialty Board for Endocrinology, Diabetes, and Metabolism of the American Board of Internal Medicine. He is an Editor-in-Chief for Endocrinology at Up-to-Date, and he has served as the Chair of the Endocrine Society’s annual Board Review Course. Dr. Cooper was the Chair of the American Thyroid Association’s (ATA) 2006 and 2009 task forces that first drafted clinical practice guidelines for the management of thyroid nodules and thyroid cancer.
