    IgA nephropathy is a kidney disorder that occurs when IgA (immunoglobulin A), a protein that helps the body fight infections, settles in the kidneys. In the early stages, IgA nephropathy has no symptoms. The first sign of this condition may be blood in the urine. End-stage kidney disease may develop.     What are the main causes of IgA nephropathy?    

    IgA nephropathy  – also known as Berger’s disease – happens when a protein called immunoglobulin A (IgA) builds up in the kidneys. This buildup causes swelling that damages the tiny blood vessels in the kidneys that filter waste from the blood.
