I grew up here in Central Florida. After high school I went to University of Florida, then decided to brave the cold weather in Milwaukee for medical school. I joined the U.S. Navy and did my pediatric internship at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center in Bethesda, Maryland.I loved pediatrics and caring for children. After my internship, my country needed me to serve the troops as a Naval flight surgeon. While it took me away from my first love of pediatrics, it offered me so many unique experiences flying in airplanes and helicopters and caring for our Marine and Naval air crew. I got to travel the world from Japan to Korea and even to Iraq. After exiting the Navy, I completed my residency at Duke University in pediatrics. As a U.S. Marine Corps spouse, I practiced in multiple U.S. cities as well as Japan (again). I love that I am back into pediatrics and Central Florida doing my life calling. I love general pediatrics because there is such a variety of visits from treating sick children to helping kids meet their milestones to just watching kids grow into healthy, well-adjusted adults. Pediatrics allows us to really make a difference through prevention and guidance. Overall, I am passionate about giving your child the brightest future while keeping them feeling healthy and well. I am very experienced in mental health and manage a lot of ADHD, anxiety, and depression. Seeing the progression of development in a young baby to a toddler and teen is heartwarming for me. Outside of work I enjoy traveling, reading, doing puzzles, and Peloton. I have even visited the Peloton studio. I love vacationing and hanging out with my two children who are entering the teen years (scary but rewarding). I try to give parents tools and education to make their children as healthy and happy as possible. As a mom of two, I relate to the trials and tribulations of parenting. I am honored and humbled to be trusted with the care of your children. It can be overwhelming when our children go through illness or struggles. I want my families to know I am here for them and they can reach out to me at any time. We are in this together. Children are easygoing, innocent and spontaneous. Their joy in small things is contagious. It is beautiful to hold a newborn and experience the wonder of a new life. Watching the unconditional love of a parent or grandparent and sharing in the joy they feel when their child achieves different milestones gives me immense happiness. Helping the vulnerable is especially important to me, as is preventing stress and stress-related diseases. I want to help children and families gain confidence in managing their health. I enjoy connecting parents to resources and teaching them how to use natural remedies whenever possible. It is immensely rewarding whenever I am able to guide a family through their challenges. I come from a small town in India and feel grateful my parents instilled kindness and compassion in me from a young age. I listen carefully to my patients and families and try to understand everything that affects them. Teaming up with parents means we can work together to guide children to be healthy, happy and confident adults. I am very focused on helping children be the healthiest they can be in every way — physically, socially, emotionally — and supporting them to achieve their highest potential in a natural, stress-free way. I was born in Iran, moved to Germany at age 18 for college, and have lived in the United States since 1992. I’ve always been close to my parents, brothers and sister. Our relationship gave me a sense of respect for the concept of family that is reflected in the way I treat patients and families today. My interest in cardiology began when I was just eight or nine years old reading a schoolbook about heart function; I decided then and there on my career. I chose to work with children because of their great need and limited ability to express themselves. It’s rewarding to connect and understand what they’re trying to say. Because children are very delicate, I insist on precision with every service I provide. I’m also passionate about getting the diagnosis right. Sometimes parents bring their child to me after multiple doctors have given up trying to diagnose them. I like the challenge and the opportunity to provide treatment that will help. Many of my patients — for example, kids with congenital heart conditions — must be treated over a period of months or even years. I try to really manage their condition and help their family be part of the care team. I’m also interested in providing medicine that has been lacking in Florida. Dysautonomia, a nervous system disorder, is one of them. Dr. Kakavand is rated as an Experienced provider by MediFind in the treatment of Klippel-Trenaunay Syndrome. I was born in Germany. As a kid I was curious, adventurous, and wanted to be an architect. I had a strong desire to help people, especially those in developing countries. I decided the best way for me to help people was to become a doctor. In medical school, I trained three months in Lesotho, South Africa, and while working with many U.S. physicians, decided the best place to train would be the U.S. Working with children doesn’t feel like work at all. It’s pure fun. Also, I like being part of a team to help children get better. Just to see them walk out of the hospital, often cured and happy, is worth all the effort. My passion is fetal cardiology. Working in conjunction with a multidisciplinary team, I try to help expecting moms decide the best route of treatment for their baby’s heart condition. I feel it’s important to relay the information in understandable terms and to give the family the big picture of what to expect for their baby’s future. With each patient, I try to work in the moment – making them the center of my attention. I feel it's my duty to provide excellent care and compassion. Dr. Yalim Yalcin graduated from Istanbul University School of Medicine in 1990. He trained in pediatrics and pediatric cardiology in N.Y. He is a board certified pediatric interventional cardiologist with more than 20 years of experience in a wide range of interventional procedures and devices that are currently on the market. My father was a doctor. I grew up in an environment that appreciated both the difficulties and the spiritual satisfaction of helping people heal. I always wanted to be a doctor, and thought it was a great way to help people. During medical school and my internship year I realized that kids were very vulnerable. When their children were sick, families were hopeless and looking for help desperately. Helping a child to heal and smile, and being there for the families during difficult times was a great feeling. This is why I became a pediatrician. Being a pediatric cardiologist, most of the time we are dealing with serious, life-threatening conditions. So we need to be passionate about the safety and quality of the services that we provide. We should be able to deliver the best practices to our patients and their families. That requires us to be up to date with new treatments and continuous medical education. This is definitely a collaborative team effort, with colleagues trained and experienced in treating babies, small children, adolescents and even grown-up adults with congenital heart disease. We all need to be precise and should practice the safest and best quality medicine. It is very important that we are able to help others that can’t reach us and therefore can’t get the quality treatment they need. This is why I have been traveling to underserved areas in countries like North Macedonia and Azerbaijan for medical missions to treat and help children with heart conditions there who are not able to get the treatment options they should have. His clinical expertise encompasses Pulmonary Supravalvular Stenosis, Pulmonary Valve Stenosis, Patent Ductus Arteriosus, and Heart Murmurs. I was born and raised in Wisconsin. Growing up, I was athletic, studious, and inquisitive. I’ve always been fascinated with anatomy. My own medical experiences with sports injuries and the physicians who cared for me were instrumental in helping me choose my career. I love caring for children. They have so much energy and an incredible ability to adapt and recover. They are honest – sometimes brutally, sometimes hilariously. At times, it’s like a double-edged sword – there is great joy and deep pain. But the parents and patients inspire me and keep me going. I’m passionate about innovation, particularly within my specialty – pediatric interventional radiology – which provides new and better therapies for kids. I’m also passionate about ensuring that the disadvantaged pediatric population has the opportunity to receive the best possible healthcare as everyone else. Taking the time to be in the moment and see each patient from the view of the family, both medically and socially. I grew up in Puerto Rico and was inspired to go into medicine by my father, who cared for his patients wholeheartedly. In my last year of medical school, I took an elective in radiology to find out more about the tests we ordered for patients. When I realized that radiology can be used to treat as well as diagnose, I suddenly knew where I belonged. When you walk into a pediatric hospital, you feel an atmosphere of hope created by the spirit of the children there. Many have chronic diseases, and we’re able to provide care that makes a lasting difference. For a family to invite you into their lives and establish an open dialogue to help their child is such an enormous privilege. Creating awareness of the healing potential of pediatric interventional radiology (PIR). PIR is an innovative field where imaging and minimally invasive techniques are used to diagnose and treat, especially vascular anomalies. Many physicians aren’t sure how to spot these disorders of the blood vessels — or who to refer to if they suspect a problem. It was the Nemours philosophy of family-centered care that inspired me to relocate to Florida. I try to be in the moment and provide patients with my complete attention and time. Another goal is to go out in the community and help spread the word that there is finally a pediatric interventional radiology team — and new treatment options — in Florida. Dr. Weber is rated as an Experienced provider by MediFind in the treatment of Klippel-Trenaunay Syndrome. She is also highly rated in 1 other condition, according to our data. Her clinical expertise encompasses Congenital Athymia, Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL), Aberrant Subclavian Artery, and Blue Rubber Bleb Nevus Syndrome. Dr. Weber is board certified in American Board Of Radiology.

What is the definition of Klippel-Trenaunay Syndrome?

Klippel-Trenaunay syndrome (KTS) is a rare condition that is typically present at birth. The syndrome often involves port wine stains, excess growth of bones and soft tissue, and varicose veins.

When should I see a Klippel-Trenaunay Syndrome doctor near Orlando, FL?

There are various reasons why you may want to see a specialist, such as:

    • Your primary care provider recommends it.
    • Your condition requires expert knowledge and specialized care.
    • Your symptoms persist or worsen despite treatment.
    • You need specialized testing or procedures.
    • You want a second opinion.

What should I consider when choosing a Klippel-Trenaunay Syndrome doctor near Orlando, FL?

It’s important to see a provider with expertise in your specific condition. Each provider profile in MediFind’s doctor database includes information on which conditions they treat, years of experience, research contributions, languages spoken, insurance plans accepted, and more.

How does MediFind rank Klippel-Trenaunay Syndrome doctors near Orlando, FL?

MediFind’s rankings are based on a variety of data sources, such as the number of articles a doctor has published in medical journals, participation in clinical trials and industry conferences, as well as the number of patients that provider sees for a given condition. Note that MediFind’s provider database is not based on user reviews, and providers do not pay to be included in the database.

What types of insurance are accepted by Klippel-Trenaunay Syndrome doctors near Orlando, FL?

Most profiles in MediFind’s doctor database include a list of insurance plans accepted by that provider. However, it’s a good idea to contact the provider’s office to make sure they still accept your insurance, then doublecheck by contacting your insurance plan to confirm they’re in network.

How can I book an appointment online with a Klippel-Trenaunay Syndrome doctor near Orlando, FL?

MediFind offers direct scheduling for certain providers using the “Request Appointment” button on that provider’s profile. If the schedule option is not available for a provider, tap the red “Show Phone Number” button on their profile to get their contact information. If you prefer to find providers who offer online scheduling, select “Schedules online” under the “Availability” category of the filter feature on the left side of the Klippel-Trenaunay Syndrome doctor search results page.

Why is it important to get a second opinion from a different Klippel-Trenaunay Syndrome doctor?

Second opinions are an opportunity to confirm a diagnosis and its root cause, learn about alternative treatment options, or simply gain peace of mind. Many people, especially those with serious diagnoses, get second opinions so they can understand all their options and make informed decisions, so don’t hesitate to get one if you have any doubts or need more information or clarification regarding your care. Note that some insurance plans require second opinions, while others don’t cover second opinions, so be sure to confirm with your insurance provider first.

How can I prepare for my appointment with a Klippel-Trenaunay Syndrome doctor near Orlando, FL?

Prepare for your appointment by gathering the following items:

    • Copies of medical records (dating back at least one year)
    • Your medical history, including illnesses, medical conditions, surgeries, and other doctors you see
    • Family history of disease
    • List of current prescription drugs, over-the-counter medicines, vitamins, and herbal remedies or supplements including names and doses
    • Allergies to medications, food, latex, insects, etc.
    • List of questions and concerns
    • Your insurance card

You might also contact the provider’s office to see if they offer transportation or childcare services or if you’re allowed to bring a loved one for support or to take notes during your visit.

What questions should I ask my Klippel-Trenaunay Syndrome doctor?

    Here are some sample questions:

    • Can you explain in simple terms what this condition is and how it’s treated?
    • What symptoms or side effects should I watch for?
    • What tests will be involved, and when can I expect results?
    • Are there other specialists I need to see?
    • What’s the best way to reach you if I have follow-up questions?

How can I learn about the latest clinical trials and research advances my Klippel-Trenaunay Syndrome doctor may know about?

MediFind’s Clinical Trials tool asks you a series of questions to help you narrow down your search by health condition, age, gender, location, how far you’re willing to travel, and more. Each question you answer filters down the number of trials until you find the ones that are most relevant to you.

MediFind’s Latest Advances tool features summaries of recent articles published in medical journals. We use cutting-edge technology to scour medical publication databases for the latest research advancements on any given condition, then we simplify this information in a way that’s useful and easy to understand.

Can I filter my search to show male or female Klippel-Trenaunay Syndrome doctors near Orlando, FL?

Look for the filter feature on the left side of the Klippel-Trenaunay Syndrome doctor search results page. Select “Female” or “Male” under the “Gender” category to search for female or male providers exclusively. If the “Any” option is selected, it will pull results for both male and female providers.
