Nancy C. Manzione, MD, FACG is Attending Physician at Montefiore, Weiler Campus and Associate Professor of Medicine at our Albert Einstein College of Medicine. Her expertise is in all aspects of gastrointestinal health with a particular interest in colorectal cancer screening. Dr. Manzione graduated with her Doctor of Medicine degree from the State University of New York, Downstate in 1978. She arrived at Montefiore and Albert Einstein College of Medicine in July 1978 where she began her postdoctoral training. Dr. Manzione did her Internal Medicine internship from 1978 to 1979, followed by a residency in Internal Medicine from 1979 to 1981, and then completed her fellowship in Gastroenterology in 1984. During her fellowship she did bench and clinical research in several areas of gastrointestinal health, published her work in many reviewed journals and presented at national and international conferences. After completion of fellowship, she was the director of the GI fellowship at Jacobi hospital from 1984 to 1986.  In 1986 she established the full-time faculty practice in Gastroenterology at Montefiore’s Weiler Campus, which has grown to include many practicing faculty members with varying degrees of expertise.  Currently, Dr. Manzione’s focus is on training fellows in Gastroenterology and she has a large clinical practice in all aspects of gastrointestinal disease with a particular interest in colorectal cancer screening. Dr. Manzione is a member of several professional societies, including the American Gastroenterology Association, the American College of Gastroenterology and the New York Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy. He has edited three textbooks in his field: Successful Training in Endoscopy Endoscopy Past Present and Future: NYSGE at 50and Comprehensive Atlas of High-Resolution Endoscopy and Narrowband Imaging, a volume which has been translated into 4 languages and sold worldwide. Dr. Cohen is recognized by his colleagues around the world as an expert on quality indicators in gastroenterology, as well as simulator training and advanced imaging technologies in the early diagnosis of GI cancers. A sought after national and international lecturer, Dr. Cohen has also directed over 50 training courses in his fields of expertise to groups of doctors in many countries and throughout North America.
