
Overview
Anita Gill, MD, is a fellowship-trained, hospital-based, neurologist with Atlantic Medical Group’s Atlantic Neuroscience Associates. Board-certified in neurology by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology, she has clinical expertise treating patients with headaches, concussions, migraines, seizures, stroke and memory impairment. She also has specialized training in electromyography (EMG), a test used to help detect neuromuscular abnormalities by stimulating a nerve and measuring muscle or electrical activity in response.A compassionate caregiver, Dr. Gill earned her medical degree and performed her internship at Dayanand Medical College in Punjab, India, where she was involved in a number of humanitarian efforts, including the Pulse Polio Program whose mission is to ensure that all children under the age of five years receive the polio vaccine. She also worked at rural and urban health centers, visiting homes in rural communities and worked under the guidance of senior members in providing health education and routine checkups, as well as participating in medical camps providing free medical care. After returning to the U.S., Dr. Gill performed a residency in pediatrics at New York-Presbyterian Brooklyn Methodist Hospital, a residency in internal medicine at Saint Vincent’s Catholic Medical Center in Queens, NY, and a residency in adult neurology at Albert Einstein College of Medicine at North Shore– LIJ Health System, Manhasset, NY. She remained at Albert Einstein College for a fellowship in electromyography.Prior to joining Atlantic Medical Group, Dr. Gill served as a neurologist in private practice performing EMGs, and as a hospitalist in New York State. She has been in practice for more than 20 years, providing thorough and thoughtful care with a patient-centered approach.Dr. Gill is a member of the American Academy of Neurology, American Association of Physicians of Indian Origin, and a participating provider of the Atlantic Accountable Care Organization.
