I am a pediatric cardiologist who specializes in cardiac imaging of the fetus and child. At the Fetal Diagnostic Center, I care for pregnant woman who come to be evaluated for fetal heart disease. I also see children in the Duke Children's Health Center Cardiology Clinic. I understand that a diagnosis of heart disease in pregnancy or childhood is overwhelming, and I strive to provide families with the knowledge and resources to navigate this difficult time and prepare for the future. We discuss the differences in their child’s heart, the care and monitoring their child will need, and what heart disease means for their child’s life long-term. In some cases, I have the privilege to care for children and their families from before birth until they are adults. Fortunately, most children with heart disease do very well, and it brings me joy to help children with heart disease grow and thrive. I am an American citizen who was born in England and raised in Canada. I have lived in the United States since I received my undergraduate education at Cornell University.
